Funerals, Memorials & Celebrations of Life

Losing someone is hard enough. The words shouldn’t be. When someone you love dies, finding the right way to say goodbye, or to celebrate the life they lived, can feel overwhelming. That’s where I come in.

I work with families to create funeral services, celebrations of life, memorial ceremonies, and committal ceremonies that are as individual as the person being honoured. There is no script, no formula, and no generic readings pulled from a folder. Just a carefully crafted ceremony built around the person you’ve lost - their personality, their story, their relationships, and the mark they left on the people in that room.

Funeral Services

As cremations grow in popularity across Ireland, more and more families are looking for a ceremony that goes beyond the traditional format - something that truly reflects who their loved one was.

I’ll sit with you, listen to your stories, and guide you gently through the elements of the service. I can assist with the writing and delivery of a eulogy, suggest readings, music, or symbols that feel right, and help family members who want to speak or participate feel supported and prepared. The ceremony can be entirely delivered by me, or shaped around contributions from those who knew them best.

Celebrations of Life

A celebration of life can take place at any time - in the days after a death, or weeks and months later when the rawness has softened and families are ready to gather. It can be held anywhere that feels right: a family home, a favourite pub, a garden, a beach, a community hall.

There are no rules. This is a chance to tell the full story of a person - the funny bits, the complicated bits, the bits that made them utterly themselves - and to send them off in a way they would have recognised and loved.

Memorial Services

A memorial service is a wonderful way to honour someone who lived or died abroad, or when circumstances meant that a full gathering wasn’t possible at the time of death. It gives friends and family the chance to come together, share their memories, and mark the loss in a meaningful way - on their own terms and in their own time.

Committal Ceremonies

A committal ceremony marks the final farewell - the moment when a person’s ashes are laid to rest, scattered, or placed in their permanent resting place. It might take place at a gravesite, on a beach, in a garden, on a hillside, or anywhere that held meaning for the person who has died. These ceremonies are often small and intimate, attended only by close family or a handful of people who loved them most. That intimacy makes the words matter even more.

I’ll work with you to create something brief but meaningful - a ceremony that acknowledges the significance of the moment, honours the person, and gives everyone present the chance to say a proper goodbye. Whether it takes place the week after a death or years later, it deserves to be done with care.

A Gentle Note

Funeral and memorial work is something I approach with the greatest care and the deepest respect. I know that when a family comes to me, they are trusting me with something precious. I don’t take that lightly.

If you’ve lost someone and aren’t sure where to start, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. There’s no pressure and no obligation - just a conversation, at whatever pace feels right for you.
